How does the electroplated finish hold up to daily use?
Our electroplating process is designed for industrial durability. It is highly resistant to abrasion and scratching, ensuring the mirror-like finish remains intact without peeling or fading.
Is corporate logo customization supported?
Yes. The flat surface of the handle is an ideal location for high-precision laser engraving or silk-screen printing. These methods ensure your corporate branding remains crisp and permanent.
Maintenance & Cleaning?
The non-porous metal surface is naturally stain-resistant. Fingerprints or dust can be easily removed with a simple wipe from a soft cloth, keeping the tool looking sharp and professional.
Zinc Alloy Die-Casting
This letter opener is produced via hot-chamber die-casting using Zamak 3 (Zn 96%, Al 4%) — the most widely used zinc die-casting alloy globally. Zamak 3 flows into molds at 420°C, capturing fine details (the teardrop handle curves) that would require secondary machining in brass or steel. Cycle time is 15–30 seconds per piece — this is why zinc alloy delivers premium aesthetics at accessible price points.
Electroplating Thickness & Longevity
The high-gloss finish is achieved through a copper-nickel-chrome triple-layer electroplating stack (Cu 10–15μm → Ni 8–12μm → Cr 0.25–0.5μm). Total thickness of 20–28μm passes the 48-hour salt spray test (ASTM B117). The chrome top layer provides the mirror reflection, the nickel provides hardness and corrosion resistance, and the copper ensures adhesion to the zinc substrate.
Three-Color Set: Plating Chemistry
Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold finishes all start with the same copper-nickel base. Silver adds chromium (bright chrome plating). Gold uses an alkaline non-cyanide gold electroplating bath (Au 0.1–0.5μm over nickel). Rose Gold is achieved through a copper-gold alloy plating (Cu 75%, Au 25%) — the copper content creates the warm pink hue while maintaining corrosion resistance.
